My dear Murray,
Last week I sent you a cable saying I had sent you five pounds. It was included in the money mother sent you dear, and I would like you to get me something I can keep as a souvenir, but take the money you spent on th epouffe out of it too. I would like a housecoat too but don't know how much they are so will leave it to you. They take 15 coupons here so that is the reason I'd like one. We had a lovely weekend. Margaret and Judith came down yesterday and Marg. made you a cake. We had letters from you too and thank you very much dear for mine. A boat mail letter is certainly the goods. I was so thrilled when I got home from work. There was your letter and one from Bob, and also a telegram from Bob. He is still in Brisbane, and had had a day's leave which he enjoyed very much - did a spot of fishing. It was the first break he had had. Garrick starts his exams today and as I have promised him ten shillings if he gets a distinction average he has been swotting like mad lately. He hurt his back last week, not seriously, but it put him off for swimming and yesterday he only got a third. He won the 220 yds and the breast stroke the last Sunday at the club. I have taken a double for the railway stakes and the Perth Cup - Nullabung and Reynaud - 40 - 1, and Bear Brutus - Reynaud - 50 - 1. Hope I win. Nullabung has won five races in a row. Adele and I went to the pictures to see Waterloo Bridge on Saturday night. It was good, we had not been for ages. We are going to Adele's for Christmas dinner and wish you could be there too. Well, have a very happy Xmas dear and we will all be thinking of you dear. Lots of Love. From Jean.
