My Dear Murray,
Thank you very very much for the children's parcel, and the little bowl for myself. The [? New Testaments] are beautiful, and Adèle and Stuart are very proud of them. I love my little bowl, I haven't seen anything like it before.
Adèle got chicken pox just before Xmas, so no one would come and see us and we spent it by ourselves. Jim managed to get a two-wheeler bike for Adèle and a motor car which he can ride in, for Stuart. They are very thrilled with them. Also Jim made two lovely black-boards for Adèle and Judith, and they are both in their element with them.
Was going to take Adèle for the swimming lessons to Crawley, but am afraid she will have to miss them. I expect Stuart will get the chicken pox. I hope they are O.K. to go to Safety Bay by the 16th January.
I'm a pretty rotten letter writer, but will try and write more often in future.
Love, Adèle.
Mrs Adele Lang.
