Dear family,

Just a line to say that we are heading for home tomorrow morning. We have a good deal to do in Roebourne, so will not be able to make Carnarvon in the day.

The headstone is at the cemetery but has not been erected. The locals say that the grave in Gwyn's slide is not the Hall one, so we are rather at a loss. They say that the right one is a double one surrounded by a makeshift fence of chains & wire. I am clinging to the fact that Dad identified the one in the photo, which is easy enough to identify, & that is the one that will have the headstone when the men can get around to erecting it — it has taken so long to arrive that they are almost finished in Roebourne.

There has been very little rain the last few days so if the road is all right we hope to see you on Friday or Saturday.

Love
Con.
