My Beloved Darling,
Perhaps its a bit silly writing at this stage of the game, but I've just worked it out that you should get this on the morning of the day that I expect to arrive home — Friday. Maybe it will make our so-long-longed-for day just a little bit nicer for you & anyhow right at this moment I do so want to talk to you & as on paper is the only way I can for a few days, I think it's a good idea to write. If I get home first I'd better grab this myself!
Margaret my precious at long long last our little world is getting set to rights & soon I'll be dashing up our front door step & then — I'll have my wife in my arms. Oh it's such a glorious thought — all my thoughts, have been glorious for days now because they've all been of you & so soon they'll all be realities. I really couldn't believe our good fortune until it was really all signed & sealed & I was on the plane.
We left Labuan yesterday at eight a.m. & landed at Balik. There I rang Bob & he said his leave is approved & he expects to get away in a few days. We just re-fuelled at Balik & then

came straight on to Darwin arriving here at 6pm — a pretty long & tiring flight really but to us that didn't mean a thing — it was the most wonderful trip I've ever done 'cos it was bringing me home.
This morning the kite with the G/C & the rest of the boys pushed on to Cloncurry & then to Brisbane. They'll make Sydney tomorrow.
I was very sorry I wasn't able to wire you last night but I couldn't get to the post office before it shut so just had to leave it till this morning. Nevermind you should get it this afternoon. I also wired from Labuan but it's problematical when you'll get that. When I know definitely when I'm leaving I'll wire again.
