My dear Murray,
Your two letters received today, nos 20 & 21 & a very grand surprise too, Margaret also had two & the gloves. I was calling in to see her on my way home from town, her mother arrived later, & they brought me home. You will hvae had my a/g, telling of the cash being paid, but so far I have not sent you any. Margaret said to ask you where to sent it dear, so will you let me know by return a/g as I should like to cable it as soon as possible. Never mind about the handbag dear, they are far too expensive, but I should like a pouffe dear, a nice one, I told Margaret that it would be passed back to you, so I'd tell you to get it good. She said "you would [?] me one for saying that," but I am sure you would understand, & she does too. And also a house coat similar to the one she had, women's fitting, mauve or vieux rose would be nice, Margaret says that is the best value.
Last Friday I had a wire from Rae from Townsville on her way home on leave, wonderful news, & how delighted we all are, she should be home next week. I do not know for how long. Had a letter from her today, & one from Gordon, he has been [? tasked] to [censored] [censored] N.S.W. [censored], grand bathing & beach, he has gained 1½ stone, & is feeling well, the warmer climate will be a benefit after the intense cold of Melb winter. So glad to know you are well. Will write longer by boat mail, but wanted you to have this straight away. All my love darling,
