Darling Dad,
Enclosed the snaps of Mother. She looks so well and happy. I think she will be in Colombo to-morrow. Do wish I could be there to welcome her when she gets home, but I will try to ring that night.
We are settling in the flat very happily and have acquired some furniture for the bedroom, about which I will tell in the family letter.
Went to hear {Dame Sybil Thorndyke last night — English as
II
last night — a carbon copy of a letter to Mother on an aerogramme [? soon] . Hope it is decipherable. I hope to get to some serious letter writing on Sunday.
Meantime, darling, do please take great care of yourself, and I hope the shearing will not be too strenuous. Let the lad do the worrying, and you sleep sound o'nights.
Much love to my dear, dear Dad
from
his affectionate daughter,
Joanee.
